Restoration, Purification and Sanctification of the Church of Cameroon

Why repent?

I would like to ask you the most important question of your life. Your answer will determine your eternal joy or sorrow: “Are you saved?” This is neither about you being a good person nor about your church attendance, but simply about knowing if you are saved.

God tells us that we must be born again in order to go to heaven. In the Bible book of John - chapter 3 verse 7 (John 3:7)- Jesus tells Nicodemus: “You must be born again”. You must realise that you are a sinner: in other words, despite your achievements, approval or good intentions, there is at least a sin you cannot resist: that is simply because of the sinful nature that dwells within you and evry other human. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and therefore been condemned to a spiritual death, eternal separation from God and eventually destined to hell.
If you think there is anything good in you, however small it is, then you still think you deserve your salvation. But whoever, seeks to be justified before God with his works or goodness, cannot receive God’s grace for the forgiveness of his sins.
What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?Mark 8:36.
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him” John 3:36.

God loves you so much that he gave His only son Jesus, to carry your sin and die for you. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. It was His decision and we didn’t have to do anything. Regardless of the times of ignorance, God calls all men everywhere to repent, because He has set a day when He will judge the world in righteousness. Repentance implies that we agree with God: to acknowledge that we are sinners, and to turn away from our sins with the help of the Holy-Spirit.
If you agree to repent and believe in Jesus as your Savior who was crucified, buried and risen from the dead, you will receive forgiveness for all your sins and the gift of eternal life through faith.

There isn’t a church, philosophy, good deed that can save you. You simply need to recognize that Jesus’ death on the cross is the only ground on which God would: grant you forgiveness, salvation from the coming wrath and the right to be His child. “Yet to all who received him (The light of God, Jesus-Christ), to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” John 1:2

Say a simple prayer like the one here below, to the Lord, and confess your sins to Him; tell Him your need to be forgiven and your desire to please Him. You can already start reading the Bible, which is God’s word, and let it transform you everyday in prayer, by the power of His Spirit. This transformation will prove that you are saved and belong to God’s family.

Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus has been my substitute when He died on the cross. I believe that His shed blood, His burial and resurrection, all that was for me. I receive Him now as my Saviour. I thank you for forgiving my sins, for the gift of your salvation and eternal life, by your grace and mercy. Amen!
